Changes: Spirit of a Man

Spirit of a Man is a side mission that Kat can partake in Gravity Rush 2. It is available after completing the seventeenth story mission, Road to Lonely.

Overview

Kat is taking a stroll around Pleajeune when she finds Eugie near the Goddess Statue. As she approaches him, he asks what she's looking at; Kat assumes he's in a sour mood and asks where Aujean is. Eugie tells her that he's probably in a bar working up a tab and complains that he'll be just like Aujean at the rate he's going.

However, Kat doesn't want another Aujean in town, so she suggests she handle Aujean's habit, while Eugie tells her she doesn't stand a chance. Kat tells Eugie to wait where he is while she changed into the red dress she wore in Like a Radio, and puts on an accent to hide her voice. She asks Eugie whether he thought it would work, and he accepts her help after telling him it was the only way to stop Aujean from drinking, that he has to be the one to decide.

After spending several straight minutes rushing around keeping Aujean from entering the bars in the areas, he finally gives up, and Kat reveals herself to be the one keeping him away. She demands that Aujean gives up the booze for the sake of his son, stating that he is more important.

Follow-Up

While wandering around Vendecentre, Eugie will call out to Kat. She'll ask how her father is doing, to which Eugie will bluntly reply telling her his dad is drinking again. All Kat has to answer with is "I guess some people never change..."

Gameplay

This mission is a pseudo-stealth mission in which Kat must keep Aujean way from any bars he tries to enter. The bars are marked in the area with large glowing boxes. Kat must be in that box when Aujean arrives, but she must have her back to him, otherwise he will recognise her.

As the mission plays out, Aujean will become more and more desperate, and will start running for the next bar; sometimes he'll even fake the player out by turning tail and heading for a different bar. Pay attention to Aujean's pathing, and use your gravity powers to beat him to whichever bar he is heading for, but make sure he doesn't see you shifting, otherwise your cover will be blown.

Trivia

Since this mission takes place after Road to Lonely, it is unknown why Kat never chides either Eugie or Aujean for attempting to sell her out to the authorities in that mission.
