Prodigal Son is one of many side missions available in Gravity Rush 2.
Story[]
Upon listening to an elderly woman ranting about her son not staying in contact with her, Kat accepts her request to find her son before she "takes a trip down memory lane."
It doesn't take long for Kat to find the shop in the photograph. She finds the man she's looking for and brings his mother over to him to have some words. The man reveals that he wanted to prove that he could make it on his own since his father left home. Kat suggests they take a photo outside the store to celebrate the reunion. The man promises to repay his mother for all she did for him growing up. The conversation causes everyone to get rather emotional, so Kat decides to leave before she starts crying.
Walkthrough[]
You'll be given a photograph to look at for reference to find the shop. A man nearby will point you towards the giant crane in the harbour if you go up and talk to him. Head to the crane, and go south towards the eastern market area. The shop isn't hard to find; it has a pink awning and a man with dreadlocks standing in front of it. After a conversation between him and his elderly mother, take a picture of them in front of the store using the camera.
Like a few other side missions, this one has a follow-up.

Ever since Kat reunited the mother and son, the latter explains to Kat that her husband came home briefly, before leaving again having been inspired by what his son has achieved. The mother trails off into a rant about how men can be thick-headed, but Kat chooses to leave before she gets caught in the conversation.
