Dusty Tokens are a type of collectible item found in Gravity Rush 2. They served as a form of currency for the online portion of the game, to which gathering certain amounts unlocked exclusive reward types of Talismans, Costumes, Gestures, and Photo Items.
As of July 19th, 2018, the game's online services have been discontinued, meaning that Dusty Tokens are no longer obtainable. At time of closure, there has not been any announcement regarding patching the game to earn Dusty Tokens through other means.
Acquisition[]
Until the closure of online services in July 2018, Dusty Tokens were only able to be collected by playing the game's asynchronous multiplayer modes. They could have been obtained by:
- Rating other players' photo uploads; the amount of tokens given depend on whether a "Nice!" or "Okay..." rating is given. "Nice!" ratings give higher payouts.
- Completing treasure hunts. When given a photo hint pertaining to a treasure chest, you will earn some Dusty Tokens if you manage to find it. You can also earn a sizable amount of tokens if your own hints lead to a successful find. The more players find the treasure based on your photo hint, the greater the payout.
- Competing in player challenges; these can be given to other player upon completing a challenge mission. If you accept the challenge and win, you can earn a decent sum of Dusty Tokens.
Rewards[]
Earning a certain amount of Dusty Tokens would also unlock various rewards. Your total number of tokens collected can be found in "Statistics" under the "System" menu.
- 10 tokens: unlocked the "Upside Down Man" photo item (a statue of a man standing on his head).
- 100 tokens: unlocked the "Salute" gesture (the pose that Kat made when she first got her military uniform).
- 300 tokens: unlocked the "Worker" costume (the same outfit Kat wore at the start of the game).
- 500 tokens: unlocked the "Miner's Technique" talisman (which increases the pickup radius of both gems and talisman stones twice).
- 1,000 tokens: unlocked the "Traffic Cone" photo item
- 2,000 tokens: unlocked the "School Uniform 1.0" costume (which is the same uniform Kat wore in Gravity Rush).
- 3,000 tokens: unlocked the "Fisherman's Recipe" talisman (which makes it much easier to destroy Nevi armor with both regular and gravity based attacks).
- 4,000 tokens: unlocked the "You There!" gesture (in which Kat will pose and point in an authoritative fashion).
- 5,000 tokens: unlocked the "Shifter 1.0" costume (which is Kat's original outfit design; no holes cut out, less defined trim, and detached socks).
- 6,000 tokens: unlocked the "Unlimited Potential" talisman (which weakens all of Kat's attacks in turn of granting her unlimited shifting capacity).
