Costumes

The first page of the costume select screen seen in Gravity Rush 2. Featuring (Left-Right, Top-Bottom): "Shifter 2.0", "Work Clothes", "Jazz Singer", "Waitress", "Nurse", "Kali Angel", "School Uniform 2.0", and "Super Star".

Costumes are outfits that Kat wore during specific side missions and story missions in Gravity Rush and Gravity Rush 2, when it thereafter became wearable any time. Her outfits can only be changed at her Pipe House in Gravity Rush and via her camera in Gravity Rush 2.

Some costumes are unlockable through other means outside of missions.

Gravity Rush

Aside from Kat's default costume, the player will obtain the other four costumes upon completing their respective missions. Three of which are only available through DLC.

Gravity Rush 2

In addition to a larger selection of costumes to wear, these are all obtainable (minus the Grav-Suit and Queen Alua costumes) either through certain story missions, side missions, or collecting Dusty Tokens. Kat can change her outfit when the player enters camera mode and presses the O button.

Nurse			Available after completing the side mission "A Legend is Born", which is available after completing the story mission "Alone Again".
Kali Costume			Kali Angel's Costume. Available through completing the side mission "An Angel Named Double-Cross", which is available after completing the story mission "Alone Again".
School Uniform 2.0			Available after completing the side mission "Forbidden Games", which is available after completing the story mission "Swallow in the Mirror".
Super Star			Available through completing the side missions "A Legend is Born", then "Find the Idol", which are available after completing the story missions "Alone Again" and "Swallow in the Mirror", respectively.
School Uniform 1.0			One of the costumes from the original Gravity Rush. Available after collecting 2,000 Dusty Tokens.
Shifter 1.0			Kat's main outfit from the original Gravity Rush. Available after collecting 5,000 Dusty Tokens.
Military Uniform			One of the costumes from the original Gravity Rush. Available if you have a Gravity Rush Remastered save data when beginning Gravity Rush 2.
Maid Outfit			One of the costumes from the original Gravity Rush. Available if you have a Gravity Rush Remastered save data when beginning Gravity Rush 2.
Cat Suit			One of the costumes from the original Gravity Rush. Available if you have a Gravity Rush Remastered save data when beginning Gravity Rush 2.
Dark Angel			A black version of Kali Angel's outfit, available through the free Dark Angel Costume DLC accessible from the PlayStation Store.
PS02 Crazy Kitten			Available through the free DLC Phantasy Star Online 2 Collaboration Pack, accessible from the PlayStation Store.
NieR: Automata 2B (with and without Visor)			Nier Automata 2B costume, available through the free DLC NieR: Automata Collaboration Pack that is accessible from the PlayStation Store. It has two costumes, one with the visor and one without it.
White Kat			Only available through pre-ordering Gravity Rush 2.
Queen Alua	No portrait available		Default costume worn during story mission "Castle of Sand". It is not wearable outside this mission.

Trivia

• Minor details aside, the "White Kat" costume (Pre-Order exclusive) in Gravity Rush 2 is loosely based on one of Kat's early designs. Her outfit's colour was the only major change between said early design and her final one.
• Both variants of the School Uniform are obtained from missions given by Newt in each game.
• The "Super Star" and "Dark Angel" costumes are the only ones that change Kat's hair colour; going from blonde to pale purple and black, respectively. How this happens is unclear.
• Kat's "School girl" outfit is the only one from the first game that doesn't appear outside of Gravity Rush where Kat is a guest character.
  • The "Maid" Outfit is available in Everybody's Golf 6, while her "Cat Suit" and "Military Uniform" are both featured in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, as DLC in both games.
• The outfit Kat wears as Queen Alua, as well as the Grav-Suit, are the only costumes that cannot be obtained outside of the episode in which they appeared for plot reasons.
• Starting from July 19th 2018, players can no longer obtain Dusty Tokens due to Gravity Rush 2's online service closing down. As a result, the Shifter 1.0, School Uniform 1.0, and Work Clothes outfits are now unobtainable.
